Ankle Brace : MedSpec ASO Flex-Hinge
Internal plastic shell: The upper portion of the internal plastic shell is incorporated into the eyelet lace closure to create an inner cuff around the tibia and fibula which resists separation of the tibia and fibula to help treat syndesmosis ankle sprains (high ankle sprains).

Internal plastic shell with hinge is built into ballistic nylon boot and flexes to conform to the anatomy of the ankle, which greatly enhances patient comfort and compliance.

Stabilizing straps: Figure eight nylon stabilizing straps and elastic cuff work in conjunction with the internal plastic shell to capture the calcaneus and resist inversion or eversion motion.

Bilateral design: Fits left or right foot.

US manufacturing: higher quality control standards
What is an Ankle Sprain?

An ankle sprain is an injury to one or more ligaments in the ankle, usually on the outside of the ankle. Ligaments are bands of tissue—like rubber bands—that connect one bone to another and bind the joints together. In the ankle joint, ligaments provide stability by limiting side-to-side movement.

Some ankle sprains are much worse than others. The severity of an ankle sprain depends on whether the ligament is stretched, partially torn, or completely torn, as well as on the number of ligaments involved. Ankle sprains are not the same as strains, which affect muscles rather than ligaments.

Sport-Specific Biomechanics

Jumping, cutting, and pivoting place the ankle at risk for inversion injuries. Close body contact between athletes also places the athlete's ankle at risk for an inversion injury (eg, stepping on the opponent's foot). Ankle braces provide protection to the ankle during an ankle injury by limiting side to side motion (inversion/eversion). Ankle braces are indicated for mild to moderate ankle sprains, ankle strains, ankle injuries, ankle instability and ankle pain. Sport Injury Solutions provides a variety of ankle braces that can be worn in your shoes.
